Jim was very swollen this morning when I got there. He also is not peeing. The doctor ordered some tests and for a catheter to be put in. The extreme diarrhea is gone although his stool is still watery. Tomorrow they are doing the angiogram with the hopes of opening up any narrow places in the superior mesenteric artery. They feel this should resolve the pain in his abdomen.

Jim had the angiogram. It took over 4 hours but they finally got the superior mesentery artery open. Right away he said his stomach didn't feel weird anymore. What a difference blood supply can mean. He is in CCU, they left the sheath in and he is on some serious blood thinners but they want to be sure the stents stay open. Jim said he heard the doc say he had 6 stents. I'm not sure if he has that or they just used 6 different sizes getting the blockages opened. He ate some chicken, cauliflower and applesauce around 3 and still felt fine when I left around 5:15.

Jim had a bad day today. He is still very swollen and had abdominal pain after lunch. It was the same but different. It didn't hurt more to press on the area. He had a pain pill and seemed to do better. They are giving him fluid pills and they stopped one of the blood thinners. Jim has been very weak and he thought it was the med so the doc stopped it. He ate some of his dinner and was feeling better somewhat. I hope when I get there in the morning he will be feeling much better.
