Patient: Ponciano Jimenez

Diagnosis: Cancer | |
Introduction Grandpa Ponciano Crisostomo was recently diagnosed with cancer and after various lab tests and multiple opinions to identify the cancer's source, doctors have concluded that Grandpa has a cancer of "unknown primary origin." Though this conclusion leaves the cancer more difficult to treat, treatment is still a possibility with a dosage of chemotherapy and an unbeatable human will to survive.
Grandpa spent the last month resting comfortably at Irvine Regional Hospital. There Grandpa received many visitors, both family and friends, through whose incessant compassion Grandpa's spirit was energized to fight the cancer.
This past Sunday, July 20, 2008, Grandpa moved to Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach where he will receive chemotherapy to fight the growth.
Thank you for visiting this site and thank you to all who have visited my Grandpa Ponciano over these past few weeks. Please continue to visit this site as the primary source for updates on my Grandpa's health. My Grandma Jean has been staying with my Grandpa at the hospital all this time and can surely use an extra prayer for strength as well.
On behalf of my family, thank you immensely for all your support and compassion. God Bless.

The oncologist sucessfully administered Grandpa's first dosage today, July 21, 2008. She will continue with proceeding dosages in a few weeks time, allowing Grandpa many hours of rest during and after each chemo dosage. Grandpa began chemo late this morning and finished around 6pm this afternoon. He is continuing to rest and appreciating the many machines and techniques Hoag has to offer to make him more comfortable.
